Products & Services

Vietnam has the ideal climate and soil quality for establishing avocado farm, and what makes AVOCADO EXPRESS nursery orchard different from the rest is that we have cultivars that have never been commercially grown there locally. This includes the Hass avocado, which is perhaps the world’s most popular cultivar.
PROPAGATE & PLANT AVOCADO

Avocado trees are an interesting plant to grow. They can be started from seeds, or grown from cuttings taken from a mature plant. It can take up to fifteen years to get an avocado tree that is grown from seed to a size and age that it will bear fruit, but trees started from cuttings will usually bear fruit in three or four years.

Pollination is also an important consideration. Although both male and female blooms are present on the same tree, they do not bloom at the same time. All of these things make growing avocados an interesting, and sometimes profitable occupation.

TECHNOLOGY

AVOCADO EXPRESS ’s nursery orchard is also utilizing an innovative farming technology that has never been used in Vietnam. Via this method, they are capable enhancing the purest cultivars that can bear fruits with consistency in color, size and taste so that they can have the premium qualities that are needed for exporting. This method were used agricultural experts from Israel and Australia which were initially tested on apples and have been proven to be effective.

Mr. Ginsberg, AVOCADO EXPRESS's founder learned of this technology from subtropical horticulturist Dr. Mary Lu Arpaia that he met in South Africa while he was attending a conference there. Dr. Arpaia developed a pioneering breeding program that enhances avocados so they can achieve the same qualities as that of the Hass cultivars and the advantage of this program is that the costs are much lower as compared to other farming technologies.

SUSTAINABLE INVESTING

Avocado investment returns are generated through two components: income and capital appreciation. The sale of avocados can provide a double-digit uncorrelated source of income, while the underlying land prices provide robust downside protection under conditions of rising inflation. Investments in avocado orchards resemble other real asset investments such as infrastructure and natural resources with high barriers to enter the market and inflation hedging properties. Margins of avocado orchards are protected by high barriers to enter the market. It takes four years until a farm gets its first crop and 15 year until it reaches its maximum production.
